I stress, you stress ... everyone stresses and thankfully! It is an essential phenomenon to the adaptation of our organism to the external constraints. The problem is the excess of stress , and our lifestyle contributes to it and can lead to a series of sometimes serious inconveniences.
The stress response is governed by the nervous system, and also by the hormones and glands that secrete them. The hypothalamus and pituitary, a small gland at the base of the brain, and the adrenals, above the kidneys, are the main actresses. They secrete different hormones that act on a large number of organs.
If stressful situations are badly experienced, too often repeated ... symptoms and disorders occur. The harmful effects of stress are manifold.
They include, first, all the "small disorders" that make us say that we are not good, bad in his skin: fatigue, sleep disorders, nervousness and even disruption of libido. But the repercussions can be even more important.
The disorders are also digestive: bloating, diarrhea, stomach ache ... the intestines often suffer. But beware, when such symptoms occur, before talking about the consequences of stress, the doctor must first make sure that there are no other so-called organic causes.
The heart also does not like to be hurt by too much stress. The latter is even considered as a factor that can intervene - to a certain extent - on myocardial infarction and arterial hypertension. Palpitations, for example, may be partly related to stress.
The skin can also carry signs of stress: several diseases are more or less aggravated by stress. This is the case of seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis or eczema.
