Mask of pregnancy: Treatments

The spots in the pregnancy mask usually disappear more or less rapidly in the months following delivery. But sometimes, they do not disappear completely. There are treatments such as creams, serums or peels (vitamin C-based) that can mitigate, but their effectiveness of these products depends on the pigment concentration of the spots, different in each woman.

In any case, it is necessary to wait until the end of the pregnancy to initiate a possible treatment. If the spots are very marked and persist after delivery, it is best to consult a dermatologist to find solutions.

It is possible to avoid the pregnancy mask by following some recommendations:

  • Avoid exposure to the sun between noon and 4 pm The rest of the time, it is necessary to protect oneself with a sunscreen (index 50 and +), to renew every two hours.
  • Never expose your face, but protect it with hats, caps, glasses, parasol ...
  • Avoid skin irritating products and facials (scrubs, aggressive creams, self-tanning ...).
Do not stay in the shade during the summer: the sun is essential (in small doses) during pregnancy because it activates vitamin D and good mood, just do not abuse it.
