Because it supports patients suffering from leukemia and lymphoma, the hematologist is today a real specialist in oncology.
The treatments put in place are sometimes "heavy" with, for example, marrow transplants. In the hematology departments there are sterile rooms, because during intensive care, patients can be for several days without immune defense.
Due to the decline in immune defenses related to diseases, but also to treatments, prevention, as the treatment of infectious diseases (viruses, bacteria, fungi) represent a major work of caregivers working in hematology services.
