The Fricker diet

In his book "Le Régime sur mesure", Dr. Jacques Fricker, a nutritionist at the Bichat Hospital (Paris), offers information (foods to prioritize, equivalences ...) and tools (cooking, recipes ...). ) to find the plan best suited to his needs.

If there are tips that are valid for all, or almost, each person is different - by its morphology, weight, health, age, sex, but also its appetite, tastes, way of life - the needs are indeed different.

Here are the main lines developed by this nutritionist doctor who has written many other books on this subject.

Dietary advice advanced by Dr. Fricker is based on information validated by the majority of nutritionists. To lose weight quickly, it is recommended to favor proteins, vegetables and fruits for a few days, with little fat. For the longer term, it is advisable to reduce fat (especially so-called hidden fats), to promote legumes and starchy foods for satiety.

As Dr. Fricker has published many books on weight loss, we often talk about "Fricker diets". In our file, we present you two well-known diets elaborated by the nutritionist doctor: the "high speed" diet and the "full form" diet!

The high speed regime

As the name suggests, this diet promises fast weight loss; women usually lose between 1 and 1.5 kilos per week, men between 1.5 and 2.5 kilos. This diet will last a maximum of 8 weeks.

It is based on meat, fish, vegetables, with a small amount of fat, dairy and fruit. Bread, starchy foods and all sweet foods are forbidden; the only carbohydrate intake will be covered by fruits, vegetables and yogurts.

The "high speed" diet puts in effect foods high in protein and low in calories (lean meat, poultry, fish) at lunch, at dinner, and possibly at breakfast. Vegetables are there to provide vitamins, trace elements, fiber, but also taste and variety to our meals. Finally oil, for your pleasure, but also for its essential fatty acids.

Here is a typical day:

Breakfast :

  • tea or coffee at will.
  • 2-4 dairy products.
  • 1 fruit (unpressed).

Lunch and dinner:

  • an appetizer (optional): raw vegetables or vegetable soup, without fat.
  • a main dish: meat or fish at will, vegetables at will, all accompanied by a tablespoon of oil.
  • at the end of the meal (optional): 1 dairy, 1 fruit.
