Depression treated by sophrology

Depression is a common problem. INPES (National Institute for Prevention and Health Education) estimates that nearly 20% of people aged 15 to 75 have suffered or will suffer at least once from depression during their lifetime.

In addition to medical treatment (antidepressants) or psychotherapy to treat depression, sophrology can be an important aid. Thus, sophrology allows on the one hand to reduce the symptoms related to depression, and on the other hand it helps prevent depressive states.

Important: the sophrolgie alone does not cure depression, it is a complementary help to the initial treatment!

Disabling symptoms

Depression induces significant and prolonged personal suffering. The smallest efforts of everyday life become overwhelming.

  • On the emotional level, depression can cause great sadness, lack of motivation and pleasure.
    Decline in self-esteem, self-deprecation, feelings of uselessness and guilt, make the bed of depressive, negative thinking.
  • On the intellectual level : difficulties in concentrating constitute a real handicap.
  • On the body plan is not spared: appetite and sleep are disrupted, sometimes aggravating a great prior fatigue.

The depression may be more or less severe, and affect more or less intense daily life.

It should be noted, however, that symptoms of depression may vary from person to person.
