Indication

Symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea.
The treatment does not dispense dietary measures and rehydration if it is necessary.
The importance of rehydration by oral or intravenous rehydration solution should be adapted according to the intensity of the diarrhea, the age and the peculiarities of the patient (associated diseases, ...).

Dosage DIARSED Coated Tablet Box of 20

Oral way.
Reserved for adults and children over 6 years old.
Swallow the tablet as it is with a glass of water.
The initial dosage is 2 tablets. After each unmolded stool, a complementary tablet will be administered, not exceeding 8 tablets per day.

Against indications

CONTRAINDICATED:
Reserved for adults and children over 6 years old.
This medicine is CONTRAINDICATED in the following situations:
- Hypersensitivity to one of the components.
- Diphenoxylate related :
. Acute attacks of ulcerative colitis (risk of colectasis).
. Severe hepatic insufficiency.
. Breast-feeding: In the absence of data on milk passage and because of its pharmacological properties, this drug is contraindicated during breastfeeding.
. Association with MAOIs (risk of serotonin syndrome, see interactions).
- Atropine-related :
. Risk of glaucoma by closing the angle.
. Risk of urinary retention related to urethroprostatic disorders.
. Breast-feeding: In the absence of data on milk passage and because of its pharmacological properties, this drug is contraindicated during breastfeeding.
- Due to the presence of sucrose and lactose, this medicinal product is contraindicated in case of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, galactosemia or sucrase-isomaltase or lactase deficiency.
NOT RECOMMENDED :
- THIS MEDICATION IS GENERALLY NOT RECOMMENDED DURING PREGNANCY: There are no reliable data on teratogenesis in animals. In clinical practice, there are currently no data of sufficient relevance to assess the possible malformative or foetotoxic effect of this drug when administered during pregnancy. As a result, the use of this drug is not recommended during pregnancy. In case of prolonged treatment, an opiate-like repercussion in the newborn can not be ruled out.
- Avoid taking alcoholic drinks and drugs containing alcohol.

Diarsed side effects

- Atropine-related :
. Oral dryness.
. Thickening of bronchial secretions.
. Decrease of lacrimal secretion.
. Disturbances of accommodation.
. Tachycardia, palpitations.
. Constipation.
. Urinary retention.
. Excitability.
. Irritability.
. Mental confusion in the elderly.
- Diphenoxylate related :
In high doses: constipation, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, somnolence, skin reactions, respiratory disorders, central nervous system depression.
- Due to the presence of Red Cochineal A (E124), risk of allergic reaction.
