· Local antibacterial treatment of conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers, blepharitis and stye due to chlortetracycline-sensitive organisms.
· Treatment of trachrome.
Official recommendations concerning the appropriate use of antibacterials should be taken into account.
Dosage AUREOMYCIN EVANS 1% Ophthalmic Ointment 5 g tube
1 to 2 applications per day, including an evening application preferably, for an average of 7 days.
Special case: trachoma
1 application 2 times a day for 6 weeks.
Apply an equivalent amount to a half-centimeter tape of ointment in the lower conjunctival cul-de-sac of the affected eye (s) and possibly on the edge of the eyelid. To do this, pull the eyelid down while looking up and drop the ointment between the eyelid and the eyeball.
Do not touch the eye or the eyelids with the end of the tube.
Recap the ointment tube after use.
Hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Aureomycin Evans side effects
Possibility of transient irritation type conjunctival burning sensation.
Risk of hypersensitivity reaction and contact eczema in case of prolonged use.
