Indication

Topical treatment of plaque psoriasis.

Against indications

CONTRAINDICATED:
- Hyper-sensitivity to one of the compounds.
- Hypercalcemia whatever its origin.
NOT RECOMMENDED :
- In the absence of clinical data, the use of Tacalcitol in other forms of psoriasis is not recommended (pustular psoriasis, drops, erythrodermic).
- Pregnancy: In the absence of clinical data, the risk is not known. Although animal studies have not shown a teratogenic effect, this medication should not be prescribed in pregnant women.
- Breast-feeding: this treatment should be avoided during breastfeeding because the passage of Tacalcitol into breast milk is not known.

Apsor side effects

- Irritation at the site of application may occur after application (pruritus - burning - erythema): it is usually transient and reversible upon discontinuation of treatment.
- At usual doses of Tacalcitol (up to 50 g of ointment per week) no change in serum calcium was observed. However, for high doses, a hypercalcemia most often moderate can occur. It is reversible in a few days when the treatment is stopped.
