Indication

Symptomatic treatment of various allergic manifestations:
- rhinitis (seasonal or perennial),
- conjunctivitis,
- urticaria.

Dosage APHILAN 25 mg scored tablet Box of 10

Reserved for adults and children over 6 years old .
Allergic manifestations: The duration of treatment should be short.
- Adult and child over 12 years old: 1 to 2 tablets daily.
- Child between 6 and 12 years: 1/2 to 1 tablet per day.
- Evening intake should be favored because of the sedative effect of Buclizine.

Against indications

CONTRAINDICATED:
Reserved for adults and children over 6 years old .
- Hypersensitivity to antihistamines.
- Risk of glaucoma by closing the angle.
- Risk of urinary retention related to urethroprostatic disorders.
NOT RECOMMENDED :
Pregnancy: in animals, experimental studies have shown a teratogenic effect. In clinical practice, there are currently no data of sufficient relevance to evaluate a potential malformative effect of buclizine when administered during pregnancy. As a result, the use of Buclizine is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy.
- Breast-feeding: In the absence of data on the passage into breast milk, taking this drug is not recommended during breastfeeding.
- Taking alcoholic beverages and drugs containing alcohol (see interactions) during treatment is strongly discouraged.

Adverse effects Aphilan


The pharmacological characteristics of buclizine are the cause of adverse effects of unequal intensity and dose-related or not (see pharmacodynamics):
Neurovegetative effects:
- sedation or drowsiness, more marked at the beginning of treatment;
- anticholinergic effects such as dryness of the mucous membranes, constipation, accommodation disorders, mydriasis, cardiac palpitation, risk of urinary retention, drying up of the milk secretion;
- orthostatic hypotension;
- disturbances of balance, dizziness, loss of memory or concentration, more frequent in the elderly;
motor incoordination, trembling;
- mental confusion, hallucinations;
- more rarely, effects are excitement type: agitation, nervousness, insomnia.
Hematological effects:
- leukopenia, neutropenia;
- thrombocytopenia;
- hemolytic anemia.
Awareness reactions:
erythema, eczema, purpura, possibly giant urticaria;
- edema, more rarely angioedema;
- anaphylactic shock.
